[00:00:00] Speaker A: What's up, hockey fans? Welcome to the good old Hockey podcast. We got the playoffs right here, right now. We're gonna be doing two episodes a week for you guys. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to get all the updates at Good Ol Hockey podcasts and enjoy the episode. All right, everybody, welcome back to the good old Hockey podcast. We're here. It's playoff time. Galley. I'm super psyched. We're recording this Friday night. This will be out tomorrow morning, whatever time, I think probably nine or 10:00 a.m. For all you guys watching. We got some playoff hockey ahead of us. We're going to get into that. Obviously, you just heard from us last Tuesday. Uh, got quick shout out. That was a hundred, hundred views on that, so already in three days. Big thanks to you guys. Um, there's not much, you know, we can recap other than the week. Um, I know you had a crazy day today with the house moving. Is that what happened? [00:01:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm just in the process of moving, moving back into, uh, into Boise. So I'm going to be moving all day tomorrow. So that would be a. That'll be a whole thing to do on 420. But, uh, yeah, yeah, that's tomorrow, too. [00:01:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:30] Speaker B: But, yeah, just in the process of moving houses and been working a lot different jobs this week, so all sorts of stuff's going on, though. How about, how's your week been? [00:01:39] Speaker A: Pretty good. Yeah, no, I had a good week. I just been excited, you know, watched some hockey. I feel like we already kind of had some playoff hockey we got to witness just with that race for the wild card spot. And, yeah, that was mostly my week watching hockey. It's entering the busy season, you know, for us, at least at this job that we do. But, yeah, we got playoffs, so let's rip into it. But before that, we'll kind of talk about the end of season stuff. Both Kucharov and Connor McDavid both hit 100 assists, which just honestly, this season has been incredible. First off, I guess before we really get started, this season has been unbelievable. Just, like, drama filled everything. Like, the amount of stuff we've covered only having this podcast for this season is insane. [00:02:29] Speaker B: But, yeah, and it's like, I'm not sure if, like, every season is like this, like. Cause we've been following it very closely and talking about it. But this season has stood out significantly to me, just in terms of point scoring, goal scoring, um, crazy, crazy stories that I feel like social media has been a big part of why they're crazy. But, yeah, I mean, just starting off, I mean, Kucharov and McDavid hitting 100 sis, that's the second time this has ever happened in NHL history, which I was surprised there was even another time, but it was with Lemieux and Gretzky back in 88, 89 season. So it's pretty crazy that that was a. That was a crazy season. Shout out the flames. They won the cup that, that year. Unfortunately, they're not in the playoffs this go around, but, yeah, man, that. Those two players absolutely dominated the NHL this year, including Matthews and McKinnon in there, too. [00:03:31] Speaker A: We had, like, four people that are in contention for the MVP. Obviously, we know the art Ross stuff, which we'll get into, but, I mean, yeah, I feel like Kucharov has kind of been overlooked a bit this year, but the same time, like, I mean, each one of these four guys we mentioned, McDavid, Matthews, McKinnon and Kucharov, it feels like every couple days, it shifts in the media in terms of, like, who's getting talked about, whether it's, oh, Matthew's about to hit 70 goals. McDavid's about to hit 100 assists. And then McKinnon has a crazy night. Like, it's just back and forth between these four guys. So, I don't know. We'll see at the awards what turns out. [00:04:16] Speaker B: But, yeah, the biggest thing I saw is, like, when McDavid hit that 100 assists, it was all over the media. There was nothing for Kuchar. [00:04:24] Speaker A: Yeah, that's true. [00:04:25] Speaker B: And that's. That's just why I think he's a little bit overlooked. And, yeah, I mean, he won the art ross this, this season, which is, you know, props to him. I think it's his second time doing that, but, yeah. Oh, my goodness, man. Like, I I can't believe that. You know, one, he hit 144 points in a season, which is crazy, but the next closest on his team was 90 points. Like, he doesn't have a dry style with him. He doesn't have, like, Amiko Ranton and kale McCar with him. Props. You know, headman's there as well. But I just feel like on the lightning, like, he carries their offense big time. And I feel like it's. It's. It's just overlooked just cause the Lightning have had success in the past. But, yeah, I I mean, it's going to be very interesting to see who wins the heart just because there's. I mean, like you said, there's four players that are just like, stellar. I don't think David's going to. But between Kucharov, Matthews and McKinnon, it's going to be. It's such a toss up. So. [00:05:30] Speaker A: No, it's true. And I, like, I forget where I saw. I think I was looking into it. But back in 2017 area, there was, you know, the winner of the Art Ross. Is that most. Yeah. Art Ross for most points was Connor McDavid was the winner that year. This year, if those players all perform like that, that year, there would be nine players that would have won the Art Ross. And in 2017, McDavid had 100 points. So we had nine players with above 100 points, which is similar to last year. There's a lot of players, but still, to go back to back like that is just. Just shows how crazy this season has been. We've got a player almost hit 70 points, two players with 100 assists. So, yeah, I think Kucharov definitely did get a little bit of, you know, he. Yeah. [00:06:25] Speaker B: And a player is 69 goals, too. [00:06:27] Speaker A: Yeah, no, exactly. And even, uh, Nathan McKinnon, he had 50 goals and 90 assists. Like, that stat alone is pretty impressive. Or. No, he had 89 assists. He missed it by one, but still 89 assists and 50. Whatever goals. Crazy to me. Yeah, that's. [00:06:46] Speaker B: That's super crazy. And we could probably just go into what awards have been finalized. So I know we. [00:06:50] Speaker A: Yep. [00:06:51] Speaker B: We mentioned, you know, Kucharov winning the art Ross with 144 points. Second time in his career doing it. I'm very curious if he's going to do it again. He's just a point getter, you know, he really does carry that lightning offense, which has a lot of firepower. But I know we kind of touched on Kujarov already, but we have talked about Austin Matthews a lot this. On this podcast. 69 goals. I'm really bummed he didn't get 70. [00:07:17] Speaker A: Just. Yeah, me too. [00:07:18] Speaker B: It would be sweet, but it's kind of a meme. He hit 69 goals. It is the most. I believe that's the most goal since 19, 95, 96 season for anyone in the NHL. So holy shit. Like, props to Austin Matthews for getting that many goals, especially in today's era with how good goalies are. But that kind of attests for all of these players we've talked about so far. Like, the NHL is at the best playing level it ever has been. Goalies are at the best playing level they ever, ever been as well. And like, I mean, when it, when it comes down to, like, tactics and coaching, I mean, it's the best it's ever been. And for these players to be putting up points that were good in such as the eighties and nineties, it's insane. I mean, and I think this can continue to happen for seasons on, but yeah, man, it's been a crazy season so far. But yeah, Rocket Burchard goes to Austin, Matthew, so props to him. [00:08:14] Speaker A: Yeah, props to him. Honestly, like, I mean, he broke the goal record for the salary cap era, which was 65 with Ov. McDavid got close last year with 64, but still, like, to break it like that and, you know, like you said, like, the goalies are good. I'm, you know, no shade degrets here or anyone else that scored a lot of goalie, a lot of goals. But you, you got to look at it realistically and see how impressive 69 goals really is in the way that this game is played nowadays. But with that being said, we got some, I guess, early playoff hockey. I kind of classify it, you know, those races for that spot and the seating, I classify kind of as playoff hockey a little bit. You know, with the capital squeezing in, like, the way that they did that night was insane. And, you know, props to them for winning. And I know, you know, it was a last minute poll. The goalie, the Flyers, had to do it to win in regulation to even, you know, make the or. Yeah. Have a chance at even making the playoffs. But they pulled their goalie in regulation. They score, TJ Oshi scores, and the Capitals secure it. Who I feel the most bad for are the Red Wings because the last two nights of their games, they played the Montreal Canadiens back to back once in Detroit and then all the way in Montreal. They tied up the game late in both of those games. It was a four four game going into overtime, and they came back both of those games to win in overtime, but it just wasn't enough. And, you know, I was rooting for them. Cause I did want to see play off Patrick Kane, and I feel like the Red Wings, you know, they had a good spirited comeback. And it's, you know, sucks to see part of it, I think, is the way this playoff formula format is. I don't remember if they would actually fit in regardless, but still, there's always some stuff, you know, the Flyers also, they were not locked in, but they were always at the three spot. It seemed like in the metro, maybe sometimes even the two spot, and then all of a sudden, they're out of playoff contention. [00:10:26] Speaker B: Yeah, they had a huge decline the past two months the last quarter of the season, which I feel like people were always predicting them not making the playoffs, but for them to go down in that fashion, that's tough. And especially, like, the last game, I mean, I know a lot of people were clowning on Torturella for that, but I feel like he kind of did that. He had to do. He had to do what he had to do. And I feel like we've been seeing a lot more of the pulling the goalie when the game's tied, whether that's an overtime, whether that's in regular season, whatever. Last game, last period. So. Yeah, so that's pretty damn crazy. And for that, that last spot, but. [00:11:10] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I agree. But with that being said, let's jump into some playoffs. So first thing we're gonna do, shut out this bracket challenge again. We've got around 20 something people in there, so join that. If you're watching this on Saturday before the game, hurry in there right now. I don't know if you can join it late. We'll see, because I know sometimes you can transfer your bracket if you've already created one and join a league late. So we'll see if you're allowed to do that afterwards, and we'll let you know next episode. But if you have the time, do it right now. You'll win $100 to the NHL shop. So I don't think you want to miss out on that. All you got to do is pick it right, and it's free entry, too, so. But that being said, we're going to go into a little bit of a preview of all these matchups. So there's going to be a big, juicy section here. And then after that, we're going to give our picks away, and some of the settled down fellows as well have given their picks, and we're going to highlight there. You have a little video prepared for us. So that being said, we're going to start off on the west coast. That's where we are. Even though. Okay, maybe it's not the west coast, exactly, but the Western Conference. Fuck Western Conference. [00:12:24] Speaker B: We're in the western, us and Canada region. Yeah, we'll make people happy with that. We're not in the midwest, though. [00:12:31] Speaker A: Yeah. And if you don't get that, go look at our instagram. But stars and Knights, the first matchup, I don't think that the Knights wanted this ideal matchup for them. I think they wanted the Oilers but the Kings ended up pulling ahead and kept that three spot. So the stars are slotted in at that second wild card spot, but the Stars, 113 points, first in the west, Knights 98 points, and they're defending champs. What do you think about this matchup, Kelly? [00:12:59] Speaker B: This. This seems to me like a conference final, honestly. Like, this is, we're getting a conference final matchup in a. That was last year's, and, yeah, 100%. I think that there's a lot of good first round matchups, but this one in specific, I just feel like the stars have been so dominant all season. They, they know their team. There wasn't too much shifting around at the trade deadline, but, you know, Ottinger has been pretty excellent this, this year, but, you know, someone who's really stood out for the, for the stars, Jason Robertson. Jason Robertson spins the lights out. He's got 80 points on the year. Pavelski has also been playing lights out as well, especially at his age. You know, Duchenne was a huge pickup for them in the offseason rupee, hence Jamie. Ben. I think all these guys are going to be really playing good into the playoffs, but going to the Knights side, I mean, the Knights have so much firepower and versatility, and they did so much at the trade deadline. Getting Hannafin and hurdle, that's going to make them someone to be afraid of in the playoffs, and especially with Mark Stone is going to be probably coming back. [00:14:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:10] Speaker B: You know, I don't think that this is going to be easy pushover whatsoever for the stars. Um, but, yeah, I'm. I'm really looking forward to this season or this, this series. [00:14:19] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I am, too. This will be definitely out of the west I'm looking at right now. I would say this one and the Oilers Kings one is going to be. They're a bit of a rematch, too, especially this one. The Knights took it last year. But like you said, the stars have been dominating for the most part this, this season, and honestly, the central division in general has been really good. But the stars look like a really solid team. They've got a great goaltender. That's what you need. We'll see if the Knights somehow have a third string goalie they can pull up that fucking goes off and just starts playing for them. But I don't know. I don't. I don't like sometimes when these teams have this trade deadline build, and we saw it with the Rangers last year, getting Teresanko, Patrick Kane, all these players, and it just falls apart in a sense. You know, there's no real line chemistry. They haven't been playing all season together. And especially if you add Mark Stone into the mix, it just shakes some things up. So it's, it's tough to do, but if anyone can do it, it is the night. So I'm not going to write them off, but yeah, I'm not going to. [00:15:27] Speaker B: Write them off, but it's hard to play as a defending champion. I mean, it's hard to go back to back and, um, especially just how banged up the Knights have been and kind of a weird season for them, barely squeaking into the playoffs, which I don't think a lot of people expected. Um, and the stars being so dominant, it's going to be an awesome, uh, you know, series to watch. And out of all of these players, I think, you know, both the stars and Knights have such a good firepower on offense. I think it's going to really kind of come down to, because Andrew's had a good season, but not one of the best goalies in the league, I would say, for, you know, comparing statistic wise. So I really think it's going to come down to how he plays more than anything because if he's not playing well, the Knights are going to like, they're going to slaughter him with, with goals. So they just have so, so many forwards that are good and to me and defense, offensive defenseman's too on the night. So it's me. Awesome series to watch. [00:16:32] Speaker A: I agree. That's definitely one of ours to watch. But the next one, it's a central matchup. I think this one's going to be also interesting. Not top of my list, but I do think it will be interesting. Jets versus the abs, the two in the three in the central. These two teams have been, I mean, all, honestly, all three of the stars, jets and Avs have been battling for that first spot the entire season. But what's interesting about this matchup with the jets and the Avs, the Jets have been steamrolling the Avs in the last, maybe not steamrolling, if anyone fucking comes at me, but they have beat the night or not the nights. They've beat the Avs three and oh, this season series 7070 for the last matchup that they've had. And yeah, I think this is a. Going to be a good series, going to be gritty. I think it's going to go to seven, honestly, it's going to be a long series. But who's like your player to watch out of this series, dude, with these. [00:17:31] Speaker B: These two teams there's a lot of players to watch, but I mean, I feel like just with the season Nathan McKinnon's been having, is he going to be able to translate this into the playoffs? Are the Abs going to make another deep run, potentially win the Stanley cup like that? It did a couple of years back and Nathan McKinnon was a huge part of that. I think Nathan McKinnon is going to be the player to watch just because he's had such a good season. And it's like if he can carry it into the playoffs, the Avs are looking really nice, but the jets are also no team to mess around with. You know, they barely missed on that, that 1st, 1st in the division spot by three points. Not to say I think the central division probably is the best of it. One of the best divisions in the league. Yeah, I mean, I think there's a, there's a argument for the atlantic division to be better, but yeah, I mean, I think this, this is another series that's like, this could be a potential conference final, you know? Yeah, but we're getting it in the first round and it's going to be a toss up, but it's going to be a very difficult series for both of these teams. And I don't think there's really a one or the other that's going to be, you know, blow past one or the other. I think both of these teams could totally take it. So. [00:18:49] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I agree. Yeah, I will give our picks at the end. We're going to do a little rapid fire, but we'll move on from that. The Canucks and the Predators, our next matchup here. This one is also interesting. All these matchups are interesting to me. Um, but the Canucks and predators, this one's going to be interesting. The Canucks are three and over. So the predators right now or from this regular season, but I mean, obviously the Canucks had a great start to the season and, you know, they finished, well, 109 points, but I don't know, I feel like they kind of slowed down a little bit towards the end. Um, yeah, that, it's not, not like it's in a bad way, but, you know, they just slowed down a bit and they have a great team. Solid, great team. But the predators have been hot as fuck in the last couple of weeks and months, really. And that's where it matters. You know, when a team gets hot and as you know, as long as they stay healthy and they're not banged up and tired, that usually translates well into playoffs because, you know, they've got the intensity. So this is going to be a toss up. I don't, like I said, NHL playoffs are so hard to predict anything. We'll give it later. But who's your player to watch? [00:20:08] Speaker B: I think Philip Forsberg. Phillip Forsberg is probably my player to watch. I think, you know, you could make an argument for, like, Quinn Hughes. Cause he's had such a good season as well. I think both of those players are, you know, at least on each team, if you were to pick. But out of all these, you know, players between these two teams, Philip Forsberg, just because he's had such a good year for the Predators, him and Roman Yossi and UC Soros have really carried the team. Forsberg's really led the charge on offense. And the Canucks are a very, you know, dangerous team when it comes to scoring goals. Lots of their games are high scoring. So, you know, I think it's going to come down to if he's able to put a good game together in the playoffs, translating that from regular season to playoffs because he's had the stellar season so far. You know, I think that's going to really be the difference maker if the, if the Predators are going to survive in this series, because the Canucks have been looking pretty dominant this, this year. They have, they've done as of late, but this year they've been very good. [00:21:14] Speaker A: Yeah, no, they definitely, you know, I wouldn't write off the Canucks at all, but, yeah. Our next matchup, Oilers versus the Kings. This one I'm very excited for. This is a rematch. Exactly, of last year. I want to say they were the two in the three as well in the first round, if I'm not mistaken. Yes. I don't know. Doesn't matter. But boilers and Kings, 104 points. Kings at 99. The season right now, Oilers are three and one. You know, I'm a Sharks fan, so I'm biased against the Kings, but the Oilers, I mean, say what you will about being chokers, I don't see them choking in the first round. I could see them, you know, not making it past the second or third round. But first round, I think, you know, the Oilers are just their dominant team, and it's Connor McDavid. You cannot bet against this man in the playoffs for the most part, especially in the first round. [00:22:19] Speaker B: Yeah. And I just feel like him and him and dry side all are going to be really running stuff. I think that it's going to, it's going to come down to the Oilers defense and goal pending for this because they've been kind of a struggle point past couple seasons for the Oilers. You know, I think the biggest deciding factor goalie out of our player, out of all of these teams, these two teams, is Stuart Skinner, because he hasn't been the most reliable this year, and if he starts to break down in the first round, I would be afraid if I were the Oilers, because as many goals as they can put up, you know, the Kings have a decent offense. [00:22:57] Speaker A: They do. [00:22:58] Speaker B: I don't think that's as prolific pro, I can't speak right now, prolific as these other, these other teams that we've been mentioning so far, but, yeah, um, I think it's going to really come down to that, and I think the Oilers are kind of a team that if they serve, like, one, one part starts missing from the equation. The whole team kind of, like, folds over. I think McDavid's always there, but I'm talking for the rest of the team outside of McDavid. So it's going to be interesting to see. And if that goal pending's not there, could see a collapse in Edmonton, which I would be happy about, so. [00:23:34] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure you would. Um, yeah, I mean, I think, again, that's another series to watch out for. I think out of the west. That or the Golden Knight stars one is going to be my favorite to watch just to see how those players play. [00:23:49] Speaker B: I think this, yeah. Stars and Knights and Jets and apps are my two. I'm so excited for. I'm excited for all these great storylines behind all these, but, I mean, between those two, I just said, I'd probably say jets and ass, just cause those two teams are that. [00:24:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:05] Speaker B: They've been so good this year. That's gonna be some good hockey in that series. [00:24:08] Speaker A: No, it will. Well, um. All right, we're gonna move on to the Eastern Conference, not East coast. Um, but first, this is East coast, the first matchup out of the east. We got the Panthers and Lightning in the wild card one spot. Panthers had a pretty good season, 110 points, lightning with 98. Obviously, this is a very big match, rivalry in the state of Florida. Panthers are two and one against the Lightning this season, which is another three game series, for whatever reason, in the same. They're in the same division, right? Yeah. [00:24:48] Speaker B: Please. [00:24:49] Speaker A: I don't know why they do three games, but if anyone wants to let us know, throw it in the comments, because we can't figure it out. Yeah. [00:24:54] Speaker B: It's some weird scheduling from NHL. [00:24:57] Speaker A: Yeah. The Panthers this year, you know, last year, they struggled to make the playoffs, and then did that deep run this year? I think that team kind of clicked for the most part of the season. Obviously, Sam Reinhardt having a great, great season. I think he'll continue that in the playoffs. And, you know, this team is out for blood there. I feel like with the Panthers this year, I'm not biased at all, by the way, but I feel like the Panthers this year after what happened last year to them in the Stanley cup final, getting beat to shit the entire series, and then they get to the final and half, you know, Kacchak's got a broken sternum. What's his name with the broken foot? I'm blanking on his name, but I think they're going to be out for blood. But who's your player to watch? [00:25:46] Speaker B: I think between these two teams, there's. There's so many players to watch, but I think it's going to come down Matthew Kachuk. I think Matthew Kachuk is just a pest, one to start with when it comes to the playoffs. I mean, I loved watching him as when he played for the Flames, both in the regular season, preseason, postseason. I mean, he's such an electric player to watch. And if he is going to bring his Matthew Kachukness to the series, I think the Panthers are going to be sitting well. And I have no doubt in my mind that he is. But, you know, for some reason, if something's not clicking with him, I think it's. It's not going to be good news for, for the, for the Panthers. But, I mean, that's crazy to me to leave off Kusharov, Vasilevsky, Bobrovsky and, I mean, there's some stellar players on both of these teams that, you know, could be the players to watch. Yeah, I am really pumped for this series, though. [00:26:40] Speaker A: I am, too. And yeah, I'll save my final words for the picks, but next one. Bruins and leafs. This one, my God. Like I keep saying, like, this one is one to watch, but these are all ones to watch because this Bruins and Leafs matchup is going to be insane. I want to say the Bruins. In the last 1111. In the last eleven seasons, the Bruins and the Leafs have met either four or six times in the playoffs. Bruins have won every single one of them. As of recently, they've got 17 total historic matchups. I don't know if that's entirely correct, but if I'm remembering off my dome correctly, that's how many times they've played this season or this series is going to be fireworks. It's. It's going to be heated. There's going to be a lot of fights. There's going to be a lot of, you know, like intensity in these, in this game, these games. And the Bruins are 40 against the Leafs in the playoff or this season. Sorry. They've been doing well. But what do you think about this matchup? [00:27:43] Speaker B: This is going to be another great matchup and I feel like we're very blessed this year with some great first round matchups. I don't think there's, there's too many matchups and teams that are huge underdogs, besides maybe the Capitals, but we'll get into that soon. But yeah, man, this is, this is a great original six matchup. You know, both these teams are two points between them in the regular season. It is surprising to me that the Bruins swept the Leafs in the regular season. So I think that's something to kind of worry about as a Leafs fan. But, you know, out of these, both of these teams, I feel like in a way I want to say Samsonov is the player to watch, but I'd still go with Austin Matthews just because he's been having such a good season. Is he going to translate this to the playoffs? Because in the playoffs before he's been kind of quiet. So it's going to be very interesting to see if, you know, Austin Matthews can, can carry that success in. [00:28:44] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I agree. I think again, I'll save my words for my picks because I'm going to go and I'll have some more to say. But yeah, I think this matchup is going to be really fun to watch, honestly. We've got a friend, Anthony, he's a Bruins fan, so hopefully the Bruins don't choke again. That's all I can say in the first round. [00:29:07] Speaker B: But, you know, saying like out for blood. I think the Panthers are going to be offered. I think the Bruins are going to be, too. I mean, going off that record breaking regular season last year and then getting, you know, beat out in the first round, I think the Bruins are going to bring their a game to the playoffs and I think they're kind of a team that maybe overlooked compared to some of these flashier teams with, you know, record breaking players on their teams and whatnot. But, you know, the Bruins have a great team put together. I think a lot of people thought they weren't going to be as good as they were last year, but, you know, going into the playoffs, the Bruins are. If they, if they can beat the Leafs pretty handily, I think people should watch out for them. [00:29:50] Speaker A: I agree? Yeah, I think, man, I got so much to say, but I want to save it, so we'll move on, but Rangers and capitals the next one. Rangers, obviously winning the president's trophy. Capitals, like we said, snuck in to that spot, that wild card two spot, had a hard fight in there to get that. And the more I think about this, I don't feel like they deserve to be in this wild card to spot out of anyone that was fighting to keep that spot, I feel like, you know, matchup kind of definitely helped them out. If they weren't playing the Flyers, it may have gone a different way, but not that this team's bad at all, but this Rangers team is really good. And, you know, obviously last year they were good, but like I said earlier, I feel like they kind of had that trade deadline team building thing where they had, you know, all this team, but this team is clicking and I don't know, I don't want to write them off just because they are the president's trophy winners, but you never know. So. But what do you think? [00:30:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I think this is going to be a pretty, I don't want to get into it too much, but I mean, for the Rangers, this should be a walk in the park for them just because the Capitals barely squeaked in. I can't believe the Capitals made it in, to be honest. They do have some playoff experience on their team, though, so it's going to be interesting to watch that. And, you know, the Caps and Rangers are tied this season, so I think, you know, who it really is going to come down to is just Sturkin. I mean, I think that they're goaltending. If it's not there for the Rangers, it could be another repeat of last season. So I think that's going to be really important for them. I feel like a lot of these series, I'm like saying the goalie is the most important, which it is, but. [00:31:39] Speaker A: I mean, it is. He is. [00:31:41] Speaker B: He is the player to watch, though. I'd say for this series. It's going to be pretty cool to see Ovechkin in the playoffs again, though. Maybe he'll turn it up. [00:31:49] Speaker A: Yeah, he probably will, knowing him. Yeah. All right, next one. Since that one's pretty. I mean, we'll give our picks later, but I think you can guess who we're going to pick. But the next one, the Kanes and the Islanders. Keynes with 111 points, islanders with 94 again, they kind of, this is where that one through eight seating could kind of help and, you know, limit teams like this playing other teams or getting that spot and that chance where the, the Caps have to play a team. Well, I guess they had less points, but anyways, yeah, they really squeaked in there in the metro and they're going to have to play the Hurricanes, which is a tough matchup for them. Yeah. And right now, though, the series is tied two to two, so we will see. But yeah. What are your thoughts on this matchup and some keys to success, I guess you could say. [00:32:48] Speaker B: I feel like with the Islanders, they're always sneaky in the playoffs, so it's going to be interesting to see how this, this plays out. But the Hurricanes have just had such a good season. You know, they're, they're second in the league with the power play and first on the penalty kill. So they're, they're great as special teams. But, you know, out of both of these teams, I think if Sorokin doesn't show up, I'm going to continue with my goaltending. You know, key, key factors to the series. I think if Sorokin doesn't show up, this is going to be a pretty easy matchup for the Hurricanes. So, um, yeah, I mean, that's all I have to say about that. And I think Jake Gensel is a huge addition to their team and he's going to be a huge addition for the playoffs. He has that experience. He's won a cup before. So, um, you know, it's going to be, going to be on. Awesome series, I think. [00:33:42] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I agree. I think it'll be fun. Um, I mean, the islanders, I know I've talked some shit on them this year and I feel like they have, you know, they've kind of pulled it together with, uh, Patrick Waugh as their head coach. Hiring him was definitely good decision, clearly. And, you know, I feel like, I feel like this will be a good series. It's definitely not one of my top favorites to watch, and there's a reason I have a bet for the weekend, which we'll get into our locks later. There's a reason I have here because this series may or may not be a snooze fest. We'll see. But it's playoff hockey. It's hard to really say that anything's going to be a snooze fest because, you know, even a close game is going to be fun till the end. [00:34:23] Speaker B: So, yeah, 100%. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Any last thoughts before we give out our picks? [00:34:29] Speaker B: It was very hard for me, one to speak. I don't know why. I think it's just been a long week for me. So it's been, it's, it was a little bit hard for me to put english words out there, but also it was hard for me to just hold back on some of these picks. So I'm excited to get into our predictions for the first round. [00:34:44] Speaker A: All right, you can go first and then maybe we'll play one of the fella. We'll kind of mix it around, um, with that. But you can go ahead, get in there. You got the floor. Take it away. [00:34:57] Speaker B: All right, well, we'll start with the west coast just because we'll go in the same order we started out with, but with the stars and nights. This one was a little bit difficult for me, but I think, I think the stars got this one just because how dominant they've been. I think the Knights kind of put their team and their success together at kind of the last moment and I think it's a little too late. I feel like some of the players are maybe satisfied that have won a cup, but I think the stars are so hungry. I think it's, it's like this year or nothing for the stars. So I'm going with the stars, going with the jets and abs. This is another very difficult matchup that, you know, I had a hard time deciding. I think both of these teams have had great years, but I do think Winnipeg is going to come out on top on this. I do think having that because I believe they have, yeah, they have that home team or home team advantage. So they have home eyes first. I think that wideout is going to be huge in Winnipeg. I could see them taking those first couple games, maybe at least splitting them, but I think that's going to be huge for the jets in this series. Is starting off the series with success and I think they should be able to take this, uh, this series even though the Avalanche are very good. Um, I do think they're goaltending the Avs. Goaltending has kind of fallen behind with Gorgia, even though he's a great goalie. Um, but I think that that might be the deciding factor is Halle Buck versus Gorgyev. [00:36:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:28] Speaker B: Going on to the Canucks and predators, you know, I think Smashville is going to be rocking no matter what. But I do see the Canucks taking this Canucks all the way for this. I just think they've had such a good season. Quinn Hughes, JT Miller, they're going to be lights out in the playoffs, too. I think this is kind of Quinn Hughes time to shine. He hasn't had a lot of playoff games under his belt, so for him to go into, I want to say this. Is this the first playoffs he's been in? [00:36:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:58] Speaker B: So, yeah, I mean, he's such a good player. To see him and see what the world's going to see, what he can do in the playoffs is, I think he's going to be good. So I think the Canucks are going to be driven by their players not as much as their goal pending, which could be a deciding factor down the road. But, yeah, taking the Canucks for that series, and then we got Oilers and kinks. I seriously think that the Wheelers are going to take this, unfortunately, as a flame. Saying this hurts me. Hurts for me to say, but I just don't think the Kings are all that this year. This series does tell me it's like this could be playoff hockey and watch the Kings win in five or something. But I put my money on the Oilers just because they have such a good team on paper in terms of McDavid and drystidl, but those are my picks for the west. Do you want to go for your picks on the west? And then we can just go? [00:37:59] Speaker A: No, you can keep going. [00:38:00] Speaker B: Keep going. [00:38:01] Speaker A: I'm going to make this. Yeah. Very good with the east coast. [00:38:04] Speaker B: I got the Panthers and lightning. This one was a little bit hard for me, too. I know the Panthers are out for blood, but I do think the lightning are going to take this series. With that being said, I do think Vasilevsky is going to be one of the deciding factors. I do think that the Lightning have just a little bit better of a defense this year, and I think Victor Hedman is going to be definitely leading that charge. But having that, that player like Kucharov on, on your team and having all the playoff experience that this team has had, I think they're going to get revenge on the Panthers this year. So I'm going with the Lightning going in, the Bruins and Leafs. I do think the Leafs are going to take this. I do think canadian teams are going to succeed in the playoffs this year. And I really do think that the Leafs have gone so many years in the playoffs with getting just dogged on and people are saying they're going to get out in the first round. I think this year they're going to show that this streak is over. And the Bruins, even though they're a good team, I do think that the Leafs will come out on top, and I just feel like Austin Matthews is having such a good year. It's got to happen. He's got to show up in the playoffs. So taking the Leafs for that series, then we got the Rangers caps with this series. You know, I think this is pretty apparent who's going to win. I think the Rangers are going to steamroll them. I think it should be a sweep if not in five games. I just don't think the Capitals should really be in the playoffs necessarily. But I also would think that, you know, it's the playoffs, who knows what's going to happen. I also think the Rangers are kind of coming with vengeance from last season, getting out so early. So going with the Rangers in there and then we got the Kanes and Islanders. I think the Kanes are going to take this series pretty easily, five or six games. They've had a great season too. Freddie Anderson's been good and I feel like Sorokin has kind of been carrying the Islanders. Same with their coaching. So I just feel like the Kaints, they got this. I don't have too much insight on why, but I just have a gut feeling that the keynes are going to take this. So that's my first round predictions. [00:40:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll say we'll give the second later. I'm going to play our resident Vegas Golden Knight fan, the cheater, the ltir circumventer Zouch. He's going to give his picks. He sent in a video to us so we can watch and for you guys too. So here we go here on the. [00:40:41] Speaker C: Good old hockey podcast. After looking at my booklet of NHL information, Jack Eichel on the COVID I'm gonna give out my first round picks starting in the West Knights in six. I mean, come on, Peter DeBoer, give me a break. He's not beating the Knights, he just gets fired all the time. Then I have the Winnipeg jets in seven games over the Avalanche. I know McKinnon's had a great year, but don't trust the goaltending situation. They lost to Seattle last year and their fans were losers. Jetson seven then, sorry, Vancouver fans, but those dorks who released that rap video made me go preds and six. Haven't watched a ton of the Predators this year. Really? Couldn't name a ton of people on their team but present six once again, sorry canadian fans, but Edmonton, your goalies still suck. You have, I'll say like four really good players. Obviously you have the top two best player in the league, but once we get to your third and fourth lines and goaltending Stuart Skinner isn't it. But I will let you get to seven games, but Kings and seven to the east, the battle of Florida. There are Panthers fans out there, while few, they are there. At series versus Lightning. Should be pretty good. I feel like the Lightning are a little bit underrated, but I'm gonna go Panthers and six on that one team. Matthew Chuck. Boston versus Toronto. I think we all remember a game about a decade or so ago, Toronto up four to one with like four minutes left, blew it against the Bruins. But since then, the Bruins have kind of blown some things themselves. They had the Chicago series that they gave up two goals in the last like 45 seconds or whatever that was. Blew it against the ball. Blues had a million wins last year and blew it against the Florida Panthers. So I'm actually probably gonna come back to bite me in the ass. Going leafs in six, moving on down. Rangers in four. [00:43:01] Speaker A: Love OB. [00:43:02] Speaker C: Rangers in four. Then Carolina versus the Islanders. I told Sean a few weeks ago he can look in his text. I will send in proof if I have to. I purchase the Islanders to make it in the playoffs. They did. So I'm going Islanders in seven for the first round. [00:43:20] Speaker B: It's all. [00:43:24] Speaker C: Right here and right here. [00:43:27] Speaker A: All right, well, that was good. Some good picks. The resident, he did like the whole nights, you know, they're corny ass little videos that they do chasing after the cup. But he did call that the Islanders were going to make the playoffs. I'll give him that. But I'll give my picks. All right, this has been tough, but starting off Dallas and Rangers, Dallas and Knights. I'm sorry, Vegas, I don't think. I don't think it's your year again. Last year you had a great year. You had a lucky, lucky break breezing through the west and then had a hurt team out in the east. And the Florida Panthers that earned it. And this year it's going to bite you in the ass. And the stars are going to win that. I'm going to go in six games now. Winnipeg in Colorado. I know everyone wants to pick Winnipeg. Yes, they've had a better season, but, you know, Colorado has more experience in the playoffs, especially deep runs. And it's hard to bet on Nathan McKinnon. So I'm going to go Avs and seven. It's going to be a long series. Um, after that, Vancouver and Nashville. You know, I don't know if galley, you saw this rap video that he was talking about with the Canuck fans. You see that I didn't. It was so bad. It was so bad. So I'm going Panthers and six or not Panthers, predators and six. Um, you know, like I said earlier, they've been humming pretty, pretty good the last couple months, so I think they're going to carry that into the playoffs after that. Kings and Kings and Oilers. You know, I, again, Connor McDavid, I think he's going to do it. I know the Kings. You know, I don't doubt the Kings, but I do a little bit. I don't like the Kings. So you know what? Edmonton and five they get. Kings get one lucky game and that's about it. Moving on to the east. Panthers in Tampa Bay. You can guess who I'm going to pick. This is the battle of Florida. And again, I think, like Galley said, matthew Kachuk is going to come out for playoff time. He had a pretty slow season this year, but I think he's ready and the Panthers are out for blood. So Panthers in six for me now. Bruins and Leafs. You know, my heart wants to say Boston because I really don't like the Leafs. I don't really care for Boston either, but I think this year, you know, Boston is not my. Okay, my reasoning for my pick here, I'm going to pick Toronto. My reasoning is last year the Bruins were really good and they haven't gotten any better. This year they're not a better team than they were last year and they blew it. The Maple Leafs, though, are a better team than last year just on paper and how we've watched them. Goal tending, still a little shaky, but that's why I'm picking the fly. The Maple Leafs, they are a better team and I'm going to go with them. Next one, Rangers in five. Pretty simple. Love the caps, love ov, but sorry, you squeezed in. Good job, good try. But the Rangers in five. After that, Carolina and Islanders, although I have been shitting on them for a long time, the Islanders being boring. I'm going to stick with that. So Carolina in seven. It's going to be a tough series, though. But those are my picks. Last one on here is Diego. So we're going to let his play. Then we're going to give you guys. Actually, we still got to fill out our bracket challenge for the good old hockey podcast and then we'll send it out of here. But here's Diego. [00:47:02] Speaker D: We're going to make the picks for the good old fashioned hockey podcast. I am the number one hockey fan in the bracket challenge. If you want to follow these picks, guaranteed winners. First, I'm just gonna roll with McDavid going Oilers over kings. [00:47:16] Speaker A: Good old fashioned David. [00:47:17] Speaker D: He's really, really good. Not better than Gretzky, though, and never will be, you know, keeping in the western conference. I got the Canucks over the predators. I think the Canucks, I know they're doing okay this year. I know they have that one guy who left. They don't really like that one guy who left. He's somewhere on the east coast. Who knows? Then I got stars winning over the Golden Knights. Sharks fan don't like the Golden Knights. So we're gonna roll with Pavelski, and then we're gonna go to Winnipeg jets over the avalanche. Because I love the video of Chris Jericho going, I'm from Winnipeg, you idiot. So that's the reason. And now we're gonna do the Eastern Conference. In the Eastern Conference. First I have the Florida Panthers winning. I have the Florida Panthers winning because people in group chats won't shut up about Matthew to chuck or whatever. [00:48:03] Speaker A: I don't. I don't know. [00:48:03] Speaker D: You can pronounce his name, but apparently. [00:48:04] Speaker A: He'S supposed to be really good. [00:48:05] Speaker D: And he was fighting a lot this year. Then I think the Leafs finally get over the hump, you know, gotta go Leafs. But it's kind of a win win because if the Leafs don't win, then it's just really funny to watch that meltdown on twitter with Leafs nation. Leafs nation. Rise up. Then, you know, I got the Washington Capitals winning. In hockey, sometimes it's weird, but I think the Capitals win. It's just always weird in hockey. They barely got in. So we're gonna go to the Capitals, and then, you know. And last but not least, you know, I got the hurricanes over the Islanders. I think both New York teams gonna lose. I like the hurricanes because I. It's just random. It's just the hockey playoffs. It's just random. So we're gonna go a team from Carolina. Yeah. So those are my picks. Guaranteed wins, too. From number one hockey fan, baby. I watch a lot of this stuff. Guaranteed winners. Those are my picks for the first round. [00:48:59] Speaker A: All right, Diego, thank you. That was awesome. [00:49:05] Speaker B: Realized that I didn't really give my. My game series. So if you guys are interested, just look at my bracket on the. [00:49:11] Speaker A: Yeah, true. [00:49:13] Speaker B: Well, some of them I did, but. [00:49:15] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, with that, we're going to make our bracket right here, right now. You guys are going to watch it. We'll do it pretty quick. And what we're going to do, we did this. If you didn't watch the bracket for whatever that shit is called, NCAA frozen four. Sorry. Sorry, guys. Losing my train of thought, but we're going to be picking the playoffs. Doing that. Rapid fire. We're going to be flipping heads or tails. We're going to be using a zinc today. Beautiful zinc and chill. Three milligrams. Don't come at me. Three milligrams or better. I'm not a pussy. Trust me. Get on the threes. But this is heads. Obviously this is tails. I don't want to get a quarter right now, so we're gonna do like this. But first up, who was your pick was the stars. Okay. So we're gonna do that. [00:50:09] Speaker B: Stars. Let's get it. [00:50:11] Speaker A: Winnipeg. In Colorado. Who did you have? [00:50:13] Speaker B: Either Winnipeg. [00:50:14] Speaker A: Okay. Why Colorado? So we're gonna have to flip a zinc for this. Tails. Colorado. Okay. [00:50:26] Speaker B: Or do you mean tails is the bottom team? [00:50:29] Speaker A: Tails is the bottom. The away team. Yeah. Tails is away. Got it. [00:50:32] Speaker B: Got it. [00:50:33] Speaker A: Sorry, I never. Yeah, explain that. All right, Vancouver and Nashville. I picked Nashville. Who you picked? [00:50:38] Speaker B: I picked Vancouver. [00:50:39] Speaker A: All right, Nashville again. [00:50:44] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. [00:50:47] Speaker A: I'm worried boned. All right, Edmonton and LA. We both had Edmonton or you had. Yep. Okay. [00:50:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Let's go with Edmonton. [00:50:55] Speaker A: All right, games. [00:50:57] Speaker B: I think let's. Let's go. I think this one's going to go to seven. Go. [00:51:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:03] Speaker B: Go seven. This one, I think this one will go six. [00:51:07] Speaker A: Six. This one, I think this is. [00:51:11] Speaker B: Go seven. [00:51:12] Speaker A: Okay, then that one. [00:51:14] Speaker B: I think this. Go five. [00:51:17] Speaker A: Easy dub for Connor McDavid. [00:51:19] Speaker B: I'll let you decide. The East Eastern conference. [00:51:23] Speaker A: Sounds good to me. You had the lad. Tampa. Oh, okay. All right, we're gonna flip. Oh, that was a bad flip. You saw it. Oh, the lightning. Wow. Damn. [00:51:43] Speaker B: Let's go. [00:51:45] Speaker A: We. Do we both have Toronto? [00:51:47] Speaker B: I believe so. Yeah. [00:51:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I had Toronto. Okay. [00:51:50] Speaker B: Both have the radio. [00:51:51] Speaker A: This one? Yep. Who did you have? Carolina. [00:51:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:56] Speaker A: Okay, so did I. All right, so this one, if it's the Tampa Bay winning, it's going to go seven. This Boston. You know, I'm gonna go six. I did seven in my brackets. We'll do six in the hockey bracket just in case rain. Okay, I'll do five. I don't think they're gonna sweep. Well. No, Carolina. This one will go six for that one. Cool. All right, so this is where it kind of shakes up because this is all, you know, could happen. Could not happen. All right, so who would you have here, Dallas or Colorado out of these two teams? [00:52:34] Speaker B: Ooh, I think. I want to say Colorado. I feel like. I feel like Colorado is just going to. They're not going to upset. It's not an upset. Necessarily, but I just feel like Colorado versus Dallas. I feel like Colorado has Dallas's number. [00:52:50] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, I want to go Dallas because I am rocking with Joe Pavelski. So we're going to have to flip. [00:52:59] Speaker B: Ted. [00:53:00] Speaker A: Dallas it is. All right. Nashville and Edmonton. Who you got? I got Edmonton. [00:53:07] Speaker B: Nashville. [00:53:08] Speaker A: Oh, okay. All right, we're gonna flip again. This is gonna be. [00:53:13] Speaker B: This is where the Oilers choke. [00:53:16] Speaker A: It could be, honestly, if they were to play the preds, I could see that the pred squeak by and are able to do that. [00:53:21] Speaker B: Oh, how do we do this? [00:53:24] Speaker A: Because Edmonton would be. No, we'll do top because they're top. [00:53:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:29] Speaker A: They came out of that bracket. All right. On the east coast, Tampa and the Maple Leafs. Honestly, the Maple Leafs get this far. [00:53:39] Speaker B: I want to run celebs here. [00:53:42] Speaker A: Yeah. We give it to them. [00:53:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I like it. I like that pick. [00:53:46] Speaker A: Rangers in Carolina. I would go Rangers. [00:53:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, I like the Rangers. [00:53:53] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Dallas and Nashville. Honestly, if Smashville makes it this far, I'd give it to him. [00:54:01] Speaker B: Oh, I don't know. I don't. I think I'm gonna go with Dallas. [00:54:05] Speaker A: Okay. You know? Okay, let's take it serious. Realistically, I would go Dallas. I'm meme in too hard right now. All right. Toronto and Rangers. You know, the president's trophy curse is real. It's a thing. And honestly, I'm going to go. [00:54:28] Speaker B: I. I'm going to Toronto. [00:54:29] Speaker A: Okay. We're. [00:54:30] Speaker B: I think we're. [00:54:31] Speaker A: We're on the Toronto picking to win the cup champion. [00:54:36] Speaker B: I'm saying Dallas, though, I think. I think Toronto falls short. [00:54:40] Speaker A: Okay. [00:54:40] Speaker B: I don't think it's going to be their year. You know, I think they're Stanley cup final, but, yeah, I want it to. [00:54:46] Speaker A: Be decided by this zinc. So I'm going to go Toronto. We're going to see what happens before. We'll give Dallas heads and Toronto Tales. Okay. [00:55:01] Speaker B: Oh, heads, Dallas. [00:55:05] Speaker A: You know what? I'm not upset about that number of goals. [00:55:09] Speaker B: Let's say 35. [00:55:13] Speaker A: 35. High school. Yeah. All right. Well, there it is. The settle down bracket right there, that was decided by Canada, zins, and us, too. So we'll see how that one does. We'll keep track of it and all that, but. Oh, yeah. With that being said, again, another reminder, go fill out that bracket challenge. But we're going to move on and do some locks for the weekend, some betting. If you guys are betters, ride with us, don't ride with us. I don't know. Some of these maybe pick and choose which ones you want to ride for. But for the Saturday games we got Aisles and Carolina. I'm going to pick the over for that game. The reason why is because I want some goals out of the Islanders in Carolina series. If it's boring, I don't want to watch it. So I want some hurricane over. Yeah. Yeah. Hurricane 60 or 70, whatever it is. [00:56:14] Speaker B: Offensive team. So. [00:56:16] Speaker A: Yeah, that's true. Yeah. My other one is Bruins money line. I know I picked the Leafs but I feel like first game in the garden, I'm gonna have to give it to the Bruins. I feel like they, you know their favorites in that money line in that game. But I do feel like it's a lock. Because I think while I do think Toronto's gonna win the series, I think that first game is gonna go to Boston. And then if you wanna read the last one. Cause you've got. You've got some insider scoop here. [00:56:44] Speaker B: Yeah. And then for this. For this last one. Austin Matthews anytime goal. He's gone two goals without a goal or two games without a goal. I think he's got this. This is the first time we've like predicted it on this show. So I think he's got it. First game of the series. He's got a score some way somehow. Austin Matthews. He should have hit 70 goals. He had such a dirty dangle hit the bar the last game of the season. So I think he's got it in him for. For that anytime goal. And then for Sunday we got Florida versus Tampa. I think there's going to be some fireworks. I think the over might hit in the first period. There's going to be a lot of goals scored. It's going to be crazy. Um, even though there's two good goalies, I do think that there's going to be lots of goal scoring. [00:57:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:35] Speaker B: Let me get the connect spreads. We're hitting overs all over the place for this week. [00:57:39] Speaker A: Yeah. We're also going to overs weekend. [00:57:41] Speaker B: This. [00:57:42] Speaker A: We're rooting for gold. [00:57:43] Speaker B: This is such a big uh. This is such a season for goal scoring, point scoring, high scoring games. I think this is also going to be. This has over written all over it. Predators was Canucks over five and a half. Lock it in. I. I think the Canucks could potentially score over five goals themselves. So you know, I think those are my two walks for. For Sunday's game. And then. Yeah, Austin Matthews all the way, man. [00:58:08] Speaker A: Yep. No, I agree. I think that out of. Out of any of these. Oh my God. I sound like galley out of any of these. I think Austin Matthews anytime goal score for tomorrow is a lock. If you didn't see our clip or the podcast that we're talking about at Austin Matthews, anytime he goes two games without a goal, he scores that third game. And, you know, he's hungry for 70. So I think he's going to hit 70 in 83 games this year and actually missed. I think he missed a couple games in the regular season, so technically could count. But I think out of all those, Austin Matthews is the definite lock. Everyone else, we are not. This is not financial advice. Bet responsibly. Call 100 gambler if you have any problems covering all the bases in case we get a lawsuit. But no, not really. But yeah, I mean, that's pretty much it. We hit the hour mark. You know, I am so excited this season, and like I said, if you guys enjoy these two episodes a week, please let us know. If you're like, yo, back it up. Do one a week. We'll. We'll listen. But we think that it's just so hard in the playoffs to cover everything and wait a whole week to talk about things. So we got to split it up a bit. Next episode will be coming out Tuesday, so be on the lookout for that. And, yeah, do you have any last words other than go sign up for that bracket challenge? [00:59:38] Speaker B: I am so stoked for the playoffs. This. This playoffs. There's so many good series this first round, so I think it's going to be a really good first round with probably some surprises to us, too. Yeah. So I'm excited to keep you guys tuned in on it and yeah, yeah. Watch some hockey this weekend. There's going to be some kick ass hockey, so I'm excited for it. [00:59:59] Speaker A: I am, too, man. Well, we will see you guys next week and we'll be recording on Monday to keep it fresh as possible after the weekend games. What? [01:00:11] Speaker B: The lottery is coming up soon. The NHL lottery. We will keep you guys on the lookout for that. We're going to do a live stream for that. [01:00:18] Speaker A: So we are going to be doing a live stream for that. It's in. I think it's may when I looked it up. Also, we didn't get to announce this last episode, I don't think. But we're going to the draft, fellas. We're going to the draft. We have a hotel set in Las Vegas this year. If you're there and you're a listener and a follower, let us know that you're going to and we'll hang out with you, but we're going to be going there, getting some content, you know, just enjoying the weekend of festivities that they have there for the draft. Hopefully the sharks with that first overall pick, we can watch Macklin put on a shark's jersey, you know, and the off chance that maybe he's a Calgary flame. We'll see. I don't know. The. [01:01:04] Speaker B: The flames get again less son, though. TJ Ginla yes. Would be awesome. [01:01:08] Speaker A: That would be generational. Last time that happened was Shane Doane. So hopefully you just don't lose your franchise because that's what happened. But we'll get into some, there's Utah talk as the news breaks. You know, it's official now. For real. Before then it was kind of speculation or just rumors. Pretty strong rumors, but it's official. So they're getting a team. We're going to try to go to that first season opener. There's already 20,000 tickets that got sold, by the way for that Utah, the first season that they're playing. So, you know, we said it, Salt Lake is going to be a good market. So you'll see. But that being said, we hope you guys have an incredible weekend. Watch some hockey, drink some beers, bet like crazy, bet the over this weekend. You don't want to be rooting for no goals. You want to be rooting for goals. So with that being said, peace out. We'll see you guys on Tuesday.
